* “Boku” literally means “I”, but I believe it is being used as a euphemism for his…you-know-what. So basically anywhere you see “boku” in capitals, this idea can be applied.
**Literally, “long nails made me stand up”….I went with a colloquial English equivalent.
*** Literally, “keep control over myself.” But because the MASU in “irareMASU” is in katakana, it stands out. “Masu” is one way to say “masturbation”, so I tried to combine the two ideas in the translation.
****Literally, “surrounded in white flowers”. But the “iku” seems to have emphasis in the song….and also means “to cum” in colloquial Japanese….I think this line is symbolic of…..you know…WHITE…..”coming”….yeah.
*****These parts are supposedly sung in English and are written that way in the official lyrics booklets…BUT, many Japanese people really think that the way Gackt sings the “English” sounds like Japanese. So, I left the “original English” but in ( ), I put the “Japanese” translation of what it sounds like to natives. This makes more sense to me, because the English doesn’t.
****** Literally “guard” or “watchman”. I didn’t like either translation, so I thought maybe “keeper”…but then that just made me think of an S&M situation…so “master” seemed more appropriate for the subject matter.
