-WELCOME-

Welcome to 歌詞の時!(Kashi no Toki-Lyrics Time!)

This is a blog dedicated to my translations of Japanese songs. Most of these lyrics will be GACKT lyrics, but there will be some other groups/singers as well. Enjoy!

*DISCLAIMER* My translations are 100% original, so if you feel one of your own translations was copied, it is just a coincidence of like-minded people!

If anyone notices any typos, please notify me so I can fix them as soon as possible. I am human after all. Thanks in advance!

Cube by GACKT

Hitomi wo tojite sora wo miage
I closed my eyes, looked up to the sky
Hadashi no mama de odoritsudzuketa
and continued to dance barefoot.
Kaze ni motare…
The wind [held me up]…
Yubisaki ga fureru mune wo tsuranuku
The arrow that goes through [my] heart that I touch with [my] fingertips
Ya ga michi wo sashishimesu
leads the way.

Maaka tsuki ga hada wo tokashi
The deep crimson moon melts my skin,
Shinjitsu no boku wo sarakedasou to suru
and tries to expose the true me.
Subete no tsumi wo aganau tame ni
In order to compensate for all of my sins,
[Karada wo moyashite aru ga mama no sugata ni nare] to
[I was told,] “Burn [your] body, and become [your] true form.”

Giniro no kigi ga (douiro) no boku no karada wo shinshokushite
The silver trees erode my copper body,
Itami nado nai hazu no kokoro ga yorokobi wo kanjiteru
and [my] heart that isn’t supposed to [feel] pain feels joy.

Boku no sugata ga miemasu ka?
Can you see my [image]?
Kono tozasareta sekai nara
If it’s [in] this closed off world,
Anata ni mo kono koe ga todoiteiru hazu
[my] voice should reach even you.

Boku no kokoro ga miemasu ka?
Can you see my heart?
Mou nidoto hanasanai kara
Because [we] won’t part ever again,
Karappo no kono (hako) ni modoshite…
Return [me] to [my] empty [vessel of a body]*…

Fusagareta kumo no sukima kara boku no kioku wo kirihanashite
From the opening in the closed up cloud, I let loose my memories,
Wakare mo sumaseta hazu no karada ga kanashimi ni naiteiru
and [my] body, that should be finished with [our] parting, cries in grief.

Boku no (kakera) ga miemasu ka?
Can you see the fragments of me?
Kono tozasareta sekai demo
Even if this world is closed up,
Anata e no inori nara todoiteiru hazu
if it’s a prayer to you, it should reach.

Namida no ato ga kiemasu ka?
Will the traces of [my] tears vanish?
Mou nidoto modorenai kara
Because I cannot return ever again,
Konagona ni kono kioku wo kowashite kudasai
please destroy these memories [that are already] in pieces.

Boku no sugata ga miemasu ka?
Can you see my [image]?
Kono tozasareta sekai nara
If it’s [in] this closed off world,
Anata ni mo kono koe ga todoiteiru hazu
[my] voice should reach even you.

Boku no kokoro ga miemasu ka?
Can you see my heart?
Mou nidoto hanasanai kara
Because [we] won’t part ever again,
Karappo no kono (hako) ni modoshite…
Return [me] to [my] empty [vessel of a body]*…

* The kanji for “body” is written, but hako, or literally, “box," is sung. I believe this implies that his body can be compared to a carrying case, or how I translated it as "vessel."
