-WELCOME-

Welcome to 歌詞の時!(Kashi no Toki-Lyrics Time!)

This is a blog dedicated to my translations of Japanese songs. Most of these lyrics will be GACKT lyrics, but there will be some other groups/singers as well. Enjoy!

*DISCLAIMER* My translations are 100% original, so if you feel one of your own translations was copied, it is just a coincidence of like-minded people!

If anyone notices any typos, please notify me so I can fix them as soon as possible. I am human after all. Thanks in advance!

Dybbuk* by GACKT

Gin no yume, tsumugu ame no shirabe
A silver dream, a tune that is spun in the rain,
Kimi no ushiro ni tatsu no wa dare?
Who is that standing behind you?
Mou ichido, meguri au tame me wo tojita
In order to meet once more, I opened my eyes.

Yaketa ude wa kusari ni tsunagare
Burnt arms bound by chains,
Saketa kizu wa taiyou ni dakare
torn scars embraced by the sun,
Karada wo tsukisasu hikari to kage, mitsumeteiru…
the light and shadow that pierces [my] body, I am watching…

[Mada, anata wa wakarenai kara…saa, me wo tojite]
[Because you still can’t understand…come, close your eyes]

Taiyou ni yakare kono (mi) wo kowashite
Burning in the sun, destroy this body
Itami to wakare jikan wo koroshite
Separated from pain, kill the time.
Taiyou ni kogare kono (mi) wo makasete
Yearning for the sun, leave me this body.
Kodoku ni dakareta boku wo koroshite
Embraced by solitude, kill me.

Kimi ga tadoritsukeru toki made matenai
I can’t wait until you are able to struggle on.
Yamanai de owari wo tsugeru ame
The endless rain that spells the end,
Nakanai de egakidasareta negai ga kanau made
not crying until the wish I imagined is granted.

[Mada, watashi wa hanarenai kara…saa, dakishimete]
[Because I still can’t separate [from you]…come, embrace me]

Taiyou ni yakare kono (mi) wo kowashite
Burning in the sun, destroy this body
Itami to wakare jikan wo koroshite
Separated from pain, kill the time.
Taiyou ni kogare kono (mi) wo makasete
Yearning for the sun, leave me this body.
Kodoku ni dakareta boku wo koroshite
Embraced by solitude, kill me.

[Sono inori wa kanawanai kara…saa, te wo nobashite]
[Because that prayer won’t come true…come, reach out your hand]

Taiyou ni yakare kono (mi) wo kowashite
Burning in the sun, destroy this body
Itami to wakare jikan wo koroshite
Separated from the pain, kill the time.
Taiyou ni kogare kono (mi) wo makasete
Yearning for the sun, leave me this body.
Kodoku ni dakareta boku wo koroshite
Embraced by solitude, kill me.

* In Jewish folklore, a dybbuk is a malicious possessing spirit, believed to be the dislocated soul of a dead person. Dybbuks are said to have escaped from Gehenna (a Hebrew term loosely analogous to the concept of hell) or to have been turned away from Gehenna for serious transgressions, such as suicide, for which the soul is denied entry. The word "dybbuk" is derived from the Hebrew דיבוק, meaning "attachment"; the dybbuk attaches itself to the body of a living person and inhabits the flesh. According to belief, a soul that has been unable to fulfill its function during its lifetime is given another opportunity to do so in dybbuk form. It supposedly leaves the host body once it has accomplished its goal, sometimes after being helped. In other words, the part that Gackt sings, not his band members, is the Dybbuk speaking.
